Seals (gland rings) are “Pressure-Balanced”type. They form a tight seal even without fi rm compression. These sealsare recommended for applications from 0-1500 psi. All seals are 5/8""thick. One or two seals form a positive seal under all conditions.Check the application for the number of seals required. When using twoseals, sandwich an oil-return lantern ring between the seals. Additionallantern rings can be ordered separately. Use Adams economical generalpurpose packing any time you can match the packing jack diameter to thehydro being serviced, and when the height of the packing stackcompletely fi lls the packing box (or if you plan to fill any gaps withanother packing material).
